About

Hello! I'm Christopher, a software developer specializing in video game development. Some of my earliest memories are of playing Legend of Zelda and Mario Party with my older brothers on our cousin's N64. Decades later, we still stay close by playing games with each other online. Needless to say, games have been a big part of my life. So much so, that I've made a career out of crafting meaningful gaming experiences for players!

I prepared for my career in game development by getting my bachelor's degree in computer science and games & emerging media from Marist College. After completing my undergraduate studies, I stayed at Marist for a fifth year to complete my master's degree in software development.

My game development career has taken me to a location-based gaming startup, two Activision development studios, and PlayStation's Naughty Dog. Currently, I'm a member of MLB Gaming & VR's team. In addition to my professional career, I spend time developing my own indie games, bots, mobile applications, and other fun software. While you're here, please take a look at some of my work. MLB Homerun Derby

MLB Homerun Derby is a mobile game that allows players to compete in the event as any of the over 100 MLB all-stars featured in the game. The game is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars on Apple's App Store based on 33.4 thousand reviews.

Christopher has been maintaining and expanding this project since August 2023.

Call of Duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a 2021 first-person shooter game published by Activision, whose development was led by Sledgehammer Games. Christopher was a singleplayer designer on the game, contributing to several campaign levels. The levels Christopher primarily contributed to include Operation Tonga, Numa Numa Trail, and The Fourth Reich.

Call of Duty: Vanguard was the top-selling video game in the U.S. the year it was released based on dollar sales.

Professional Experience

MLB - Associate Software Engineer

Maintained and expanded upon MLB Homerun Derby
Prototyped and implemented server and client code on a new mobile project
Utilized Google Cloud Platform to monitor and maintain multiplayer servers
Authored and ran tests against servers and documented their results

Naughty Dog - Associate Technical Designer

Developed host-authoritative scripts for a networked multiplayer project
Designed test scenarios to measure networked script performance against high latency and packet loss
Converted existing compilation processes to runtime processes to enable dynamic behavior
Expanded behavior of existing systems to allow greater freedom and immersion to players

Raven Software - Design Intern (games, systems, and UX)

Assisted in implementing design decisions on Call of Duty: Vanguard near end of development
Collaborated with a cross-disciplinary team to orchestrate implementation of effects, audio, and animations
Tracked and fixed bugs including logic errors, compilation errors, and more to ensure software quality
Utilized proprietary software configuration management system to test and submit code to larger project

Sledgehammer Games - Design Intern

Worked with a AAA team on the single-player campaign of Call of Duty: Vanguard
Troubleshot errors using a custom scripting language to ensure single-player levels were free of bugs
Implemented early design choices by placing and editing entities using a custom game engine
Tested and reiterated on gameplay design choices

Monsarrat Inc. - Technical Consultant

Authored clear, inspectable C# code to find safe, real-world locations for augmented reality gameplay
Wrote documentation to allow code to be maintained by other developers upon completion
Utilized Mapbox, Google for Unity, and Amazon Web Services to visualize real-world locations in the Unity
Served as the principal communicator between the company’s founder and third-party consultants
